Cow-milkers. - A teat cup for use with a suction milking-machine has a detachable lower portion formed with a cylindrical recess 6 in which a plunger 9 reciprocates, the plunger 9 engaging a diaphragm D adapted to close, the outlet 2 of the teat cup. The diaphragm is secured between The detachable bottom and the main portion of the cup, being provided with thickened edges 3 and with a strengthened middle portion to engage the plunger and the edges of the outlet 2. To prevent wear annular inclined bearing surfaces are formed on the lower portion and the main portion of the teat cup where the diaphragm engages these parts. A recess is formed in the plunger to engage a guide knob on the diaphragm. Small passages 16 are formed in the diaphragm and longitudinal passages 10 extend along the plunger. The passages 16 may lead directly to the passages 10 or indirectly through passages or chambers formed in the top of the plunger. In a modification the diaphragm is situated at the lower end of the recess 6.
