Abstract
An electric handy sewer has a gear box (1) with motor (11) for driving its upper holder (2) to reciprocate upwards and downwards through transmission by a crown gear (13), a pinion (131) on the shaft (132) of the crown gear (13), a gear (14), an eccentric wheel on the gear (14) and a link (15) for sewing purpose. The upward and downward reciprocation of the upper holder (2) is transmitted to fabric moving gears through a transmission plate (23) to move sewn fabric. <IMAGE>
Description
SPECIFICATION
Electric handy sewer
This invention relates to electric handy sewer structure of the conventional handy sewer is quite sophisticated. Breakdown occurs frequently. Though its size is smaller than an ordinary electric sewer, it is larger and heavier than an ordinary electric iron, and its application is not convenient enough. Another kind of handy sewer which is a small as a stapler is of time and work consuming in operation though it is compact and handy. Therefore, the inventor designed a new type of electric handy sewer.
According to this invention, I propose an electric handy sewer comprising an upper holder with sewing needle and tension regulator at its front end, transmission plate, fabric presser and frame at its middle and flange for connecting alin at its rear end; a lower holder with fabric moving gears, moving plate, and moveable lever; an upper cover, with power switch and plug sockets; a base with built-in gear box and control button; and a sewer case with frame and spring chuck for installation of the sewer on a bench.
Embodiments of the invention are described by way of example, with reference to the drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a sectional view of a gear box for an embodiment of the present invention;
Figure 2 is a perspective view of the embodiment of the present invention;
Figure 3 is a sectional voew of the lower holder of the present invention;
Figure 4 is a sectional view of another embodiment for the present invention; and
Figure 5 is a perspective view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention.
As shown in Fig. 1, there is a motor (11) in the gear box (1). T the driving shaft of the motor, there is a pinion (12) to drive a crown gear (13) which, incorporates a coaxial pinion (131) at shaft (132) to drive a gear (14). The shaft (141) of the gear (14) extends out over the gear box (1). An eccentric wheel (142) is incorporated at a side of the gear (14) and connected to a link (15). The link (15) will reciprocate upwards and downwards by the action of the eccentric wheel (142) during operation of the motor (1).
As shown in Fig. 2, a perspective view of the embodiment of the present invention, which illustrates position of the gear box (1) between the base (3) and upper cover (4) of a handly sewer according to the present invenzion. An end of the shaft (132) for the crown gear (13) is passing through the gear box (1) and incorporates a control button (133) which is for adjusting sewing neddle (22) to its present position after its power source is cut off.
The end flange (21) of the upper holder (2) is incorporated with the link (15) by a pin (16) passing through a hole at the flange (21) and a hole at the upper end of the link (15).
Tension regulator (24), transmission plate (23), needle (22) and fabric presser (25) are fixed at the upper holder (2). There are fabric moving gears (55) at the lower holder(5), as shown in Fig. 3. The upper holder (2) and the lower holder (5) are incorporated by a transverse shaft (26) so that the upper holder (2) can be operated to reciprocate the needle (22) upwards and downwards for sewing purpose with the transverse shaft (26) as a pivot.
A power switch (41) and a plug socket (42) are installed on the upper cover (4), as shown in Fig. 5. The said plug socket (42) is for connecting to a battery (45). Another plug socket (43) is for installation of a foot switch (44) if the sewer is placed on a bench for operation.
Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the lower holder of the present invention. The transmission plate (23) is extended to pass it from the upper holder (2). An end of the transmission plate (23) has a recession (231) to incorporate with a block (511) at a linking plate (51) so that the linking plate (51) can reciprocate upwards and downwards with a support (512) as a pivot. A slot (53) at the frame (52) is to limit the movement of the linking plate (51) to prevent the block (511) from disengaging from the recession (231) during sliding. A moveable lever (513) is fixed to another end of the linking plate (51).Since the moveable lever (513) is inserted within the slot (541) of a moving plate (54), the moving plate (54) vibrates circumferentially within a certain radian while the moveable lever (513) reciprocates upwards and downwards, and thus a control screw (56) moves upwards and downwards so that a spring (57) incorporated with the control screw (56) permits the fabric moving gears (55) to move the sawn fabric forwards.
Fig. 4 illustrates another embodiment of the present invention. Its structure is substantially the same with that shown in Fig. 2 and the only difference between them is at the gear box (1). The difference is described below.
The motor (11) drives a pinion (12) which sequentially drives the first gear (6). A second gear (62) is incorporated to the shaft (61) of the first gear (6). The second geasr (62) drives the third gear (7). The shaft (61) of the first gear (6) extends out over the gear box (1) and is bent in a form of "L" outside the gear box (1) for manual adjustment of the upper holder (2). The third gear (7) has a crank (71) with two ends hung at the gear box (1) and a link (8) at its middle. While the motor (1) is running, the upper holder (2), with the transverse shaft (26) as a pivot, reciprocates upwards and downwards subject to control of the link (8). Reciprocation of the upper holder (2) drives the transmission plate (23) for upward and downward movements, and to drive the fabric moving gears (55) for repeated transverse movement.
Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention. The present invention has a case (9) at its bottom, beneath which at an appropriate position there is a frame (91) with spring chuck (92) for fixing the sewer to edge of any table for operation on bench.
The present invention is characterized by: (1) compact and handy particularly fit for traveller; (2) simple comstruction of low cost; (3) electric motor driving which promises fast and time-saving operation; (4) easy operation which is easier than the prior art, and (5) good quality comparable to large electric sewer.
