Abstract

A cylindrical snooker/billiard cue extension is designed to receive the butt end of a cue and hold the wedge shape of the butt by an internal projection. An additional cylinder may be provided to receive the cue extension and add to its length - not shown. The two extensions can form a carrying case for the two parts of a two-piece cue or for a one-piece cue - not shown. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Snooker/billiard cue extension FIELD OF INVENTION The present invention relates to an extension/s for a snooker/billiard cue which can also double as a cue case.
The extension is a fitment to lengthen the cue to enable a player to take a shot which is beyond the reach of the normal cue. A further part can give added length to the extension and the two pieces with suitable closures, fastenings and means of carrying can double as a case for a one or more piece cue.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION Cylindrical snooker/billiard cue extensions with the end adapted to receive the butt end of the cue and with various devices for holding the cue are already manufactured but these extensions have only one use. The present invention aims at achieving a rigid extension for the cue without causing any damage to the cue, added length to the extension, if required, and, by incorporating the two, a carrying case for a one or more piece cue.
SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION A The present invention provides a snooker/billiard cue extension consisting of a cylindrical body having one end with an internal diameter slightly larger than the butt end of a cue and with a projection/s within the cylinder at a short distance from the end to hold the wedge shape at the butt end of the cue as shown in Fig. 9 or by the methods shown in Figs. 10 and 11. This projection/s will hold the cue rigidly in the extension as shown in Fig. 1 and Fig. 9. The cue extension can be manufactured from wood, metals or plastics or any combination of these materials.
B An additional cylindrical body of slightly greater diameter but not necessarily identical length which will receive part but not all of the extension referred to in A will give an extension of added length as shown in Fig. 2.
C The two extensions referred to in A and B side-by-side as shown in Fig. 3, with suitable closures, fastenings and means of carrying, can form a case for both parts of a twopiece cue. The two extensions referred to in A and B, end-to-end as shown in Fig. 4, with suitable closures, fastenings and means of carrying, can form a case for a one-piece cue.
Other alternatives to a push fitting for joining the two extensions to form a case for a onepiece cue are shown in Figs. 5, 6, 7 and 8.
D The cases can be fitted with a locking device/s at an appropriate position/s.
1. A snooker/billiard cue extension consisting of a cylindrical body having one end with an internal diameter slightly larger than the butt end of a cue and with a projection/s within the cylinder at a short distance from the end to hold the wedge shape at the butt end of the cue.
2. An additional cylindrical body of slightly greater diameter than but not necessarily identical length to the snooker/billiard cue extension referred to in Claim 1 which will receive part but not all of the snooker/billiard cue extension referred to and give an extension of added length.
3. A snooker/billiard cue case for the transportation, protection and security of a cue by using the cylindrical bodies referred to in Claim 1 and Claim 2.
4. A snooker/billiard cue case for the transportation, protection and security of a twopiece cue by using the cylindrical bodies referred to in Claim 1 and Claim 2 side-by-side with suitable closures, fastenings and means of carrying.
5. A snooker/billiard cue case for the transportation, protection and security of a onepiece cue by using the cylindrical bodies referred to in Claim 1 and Claim 2 end-to-end with suitable closure, fastenings and means of carrying.
6. A snooker/billiard cue extension substantially as described herein with reference to and as shown in the accompanying drawings.
