Abstract

216,061. Yonck, L. Dec. 21, 1923. Blasting cartridges and detonators.-A blasting cartridge comprises a hollow solid cylindrical jacket of a difficulty inflammable explosive of great power, such as trinitrotoluene or picric acid, or a mixture of these containing another difficultly inflammable explosive in powder form adapted, when exploding, to cause the explosion of the surrounding explosive. This powder filling may be of Yonckite, Roburite, Bellite, Favier explosives, Fractorite, Westphalite, Raclenite, or Densite, all of which contain ammonium nitrate and nitrated hydrocarbons such as nitrated naphthalene, benzine, and toluene.
