Abstract

216,018. Elder, J. July 28, 1923. Golf clubs.-A cork-faced driver or brassie is made by compressing a piece of cork in the direction of its thickness, soaking the cork in paraffin oil, inserting it in a dovetailed recess in the club head, compressing the face of the cork whilst in position, cutting off the surplus cork protruding from the recess, and again soaking the cork in paraffin oil. A brass plate is secured to the sole or the bone is pegged on, and the club is completed as usual.
