Abstract
A hinge has hinge plates 1, 1' movable by spring means 5, 5' one end of each spring being located respectively in a hook 11, 11' of one plate 1 and the other end being located in opening 7, 7' respectively of a control ring 8 which is adjustably held by the other plate 1'. Surfaces of members 16, 16' located in lugs 15 of one hinge plate control movement of the hinge as they slide over the co- operating surfaces a, b, c of member 18 on the other hinge plate. Tension in the springs 5 may be adjusted by removing the retaining pin 9'' from control ring 8, moving the control ring and replacing the pin in a different hole. <IMAGE>

Detailed description of the invention:
According to the present invention, the coil spring is fitted into the axle receiving part of two pieces of the hinging plates so as the door can be opend and closed smoothly by the action of the contacting of the holding square bar and the respecting contacting face in order to adjust the elasticity of the spring caused by the rotational power of the door and the weight of the door by means of setting the adjusting ring to the middle part of the axle receiving part.
Korean utility model publication No.
84-970 and 84-2399 relates with presend invention. In the former hinge, the rotating ring was set to axle setting-part between the hinging plates for the purpose of making the sliding action to be smooth, and further, the stopping ring and its respective stopping, projection were formed so as to make the door to be opened and stationed only by the opening inertia of the door enhance the closed elastic strength of the door by means of setting successively coil springs through the stopping lever for the purpose of eliminating the noisy bang from the door-opening and closing.
In the later hinge the multi-sliding dent was formed on the controlling projection face and endowed another rotating means between the axle receivers of the hinge plates in order to permit the door to be opened and closed in multi-stage way and the door-opening and closing actions to be smooth and accurate.
However, in the hinges according to the hereinbeforementioned prior inventions, the axle set through the axle-receiver can be easily removed from said receiver with a nail by using hammer or the other tools so that the two hinge plates can be easily separated though the door could be opened and closed smoothly and the noise of the door-opening and closing could be eliminated. Further, in the beforesaid inventions, the safety of the hinge could not be maintained and the burglar-proof could not be assured, and, furthermore, the elasticity of the spring used in assembling of the hinge was lowered due to spring was decreased by long time use and the strength of the spring was decreased by the overweight of the door so that the users had to have troubles of changing the hinge to new one and the economic charges.
The present invention relates to an improved hinge in which the hereinbefore mentioned faults are eliminated. In the present invention, the coil spring is set to the both side of the axle-receiver respectively and the controlling ring having many dents for pin at the circumferential face is set between said coil springs so as one end stopper of the coil spring is fallen into the left and right stopping dents of the controlling ring and the other end stopper is allowed to be stationed by the stopping part thereby allowing the strength of the door-opening and closing to be controlled as desired by loosing or fixing the fixing pin through the hole of the fixing piece formed between the sliding dents of the square stopping-bar, and the axle is set into the protective ring having spring outside of said protective ring from the one end of the axle-receiver and then the rotative ring, washer and fixing ring are set in turn and the one end of the axle is fixed within the fixing ring by conventional method as hammering in order to prevent the axle from pulling out one side by a nail or the other tools so that the safety of the hinge can be maintained and prevented from the burglar.
Explaining now according to the drawings, in assembling of the two hinge plates (1)(1') by means of joining together by respective axle-receiver (2)(2'), the controlling ring (8) to which the one end hooking parts (6)(6') of the spring (5)(5') are set into the stopping openings (7)(7') of said ring (8) is set into the- cut open (3) and the pin-dent (8') is coincided with the hole (9') of the fixing piece (9") and then the other hooking parts (10)(10') of said spring (5)(5') are hooked by the holding openings (1 1)(1 1'), and the rotative ring (12), washer (12') and fixing ring (12") are set onto the axle (13) having the stopper (13') at its one end in turn from the both sides of the axle-receiver (2), and the other end (13") of said axle (13) is hammered into the fixing ring (12") to be fixed and then the cap (14) is fastened. And the square bar (16) having the dent part at its middle part is set between the another axle-pin receivers (15) by means of setting the pin-axle (16) through the axle-pin receivers (15) and the cap (17) is fixed to the both ends of said pin-axle (16) so as said square bar (16) can be rotated.
Said another axle-receivers (1 5) should be formed to be integrallity of said hinge plate (1) as shown in Fig. 3, and the square bar (16) is designed to be slided on the sliding dents (a) (b) and (c) formed on the sliding plate (18) formed inside the cut-open (3) of the hinge plate (1') as shown in Fig. 4(A), and the inserting-opening (19) is formed between said another axle-pin receivers (15).
In thus structured present invention, the hinge plate (1) fixed to a structure is kept in secured state when the door is opened and only the hinge plate (1') which is secured to the door is rotated and then protective ring (4)(4'), rotative ring (1 2), washer (12') and fixing ring (12") set into the axle-receivers (2)(2') by the axle (13) are rotated simultaneously, and at this time, the square bar (16) set to the said axle-pin receivers (15) does sliding along the sliding dents (a), (b) and (c) formed on the sliding plate (18) formed for sliding by the square bar (16) and situated above the cut-open (3) formed at middle part of the axlereceiver (2') of the hinge plate (1') to permit the door to gradual opening, and the controlling ring (8) having the hooking openings (7)(7') to which the hooking parts (6)(6') of the spring (5)(5') permit the door to be closed as soon as the door is let go since the fixing pin (9") fixed through the hole (9') of the fixing piece (9) keeps fixing state and as the contracted spring (5)(5') is extended in the state that the other hooking part (10)(10') are helt by the holding openings (11 )(1 1').
In the present invention, however, the protective ring (4)(4') are inserted into the springs (5)(5') and the control ring (8) is set into the cut-open (3) at the middle part of the hinge plate (1') and then the rotative rings (12), washers (12') and fixing rings (12") are set as shown in Fig. 1, 2 and 3, and the axlereceivers (2)(2') are assembled by the axle (13) having the stopper (13'), and the other end (13") of the axle (13) is hammered into the fixing ring (1 2") to be fixed, so that, after the cap (14) is removed from the said fixing ring (12"), the axle (13) can not be removed even if the axle (13) is hammered by its end part by the burglar. Therefore, the hinge plates (1)(1 can not broken up so that the door can prevented from the burglars.
When the power of spring is required to be strengthen according to the weighty door to when the power of spring has become decreased due to long time using, a nail or gimlet is put into the pin-dent (8') of the controlling ring (8) through the rectangular opening (19) formed between the said axle receivers (15) in order to fix said pin-dent (8'), and then the fixing pin (9") is unscrewed through the hole (9') to turn the controlling ring (8) in the direction, thereby contracting springs (5)(5'), and, further, screw the said fixing pin (9") again to stengthen the opening direction of the door. On the contrary, if does the beforementioned action in the opposite way, the power of the springs (5)(5') become strong.
Therefore, the present invention has the effects of preventing the hinge from optional breaking up and of optional controlling (adjusting) of the power of the springs keeping smooth opening and closing of the door for long time.
