Roll holders.-A holder for a roll of ribbon or like is provided with a spindle g having a tooth g<1> which engages an indentation h<1> on the roll-carrying cylinder h to enable the roll to be rewound on the cylinder. The spindle g is carried by a disc forming one end of the holder and fits over a spindle d carried by the other end disc so that the spindle g can be rotated by rotating one disc relatively to the other. The ribbon &c. is withdrawn through a slot in the cylindrical wall a of the holder. The device may be made of cardboard.
