Abstract

The device comprises a block for insertion into the letter aperture of a door (from the inside) and a pair of bolts attached to the door for engagement in respective holes in the block. The block has a handle for ease of use.

Description

SPECIFICATION Letter Box Guard This invention relates to a letter box guard.
A letter box guard is a safety device that could prevent damage or access into a home or business establishment via the letter box.
It consists of a block of wood shaped to fit inside a letter box with predrilled holes that would allow the consumer to attach this device to the inside of the door with two small bolts, catches or similar means.
A handle would be attached to the back of the block of wood to allow ease in use. It would also have two metal or plastic attachments as alternatives to the predrilled holes. It could also be made out of a high impact plastic material with metal or plastic attachments for more versatility and strength.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which the shape and size of the guard can vary.
Figure 1 shows in perspective the inside of the door without a letter box guard.
Figure 2 shows the letter box guard.
Figure 3 shows the attachments for the letter box guard.
Figure 4 shows the letter box guard assembled and inserted in the letter box.
Referring to the drawing the device is inserted in the letter box and secured with bolts, catches or similar means, whenever it seems necessary for safety reasons.
1. A letter box guard is a suitable made or moulded shape to fit the inside of the letter box.
2. A letter box guard as claimed in claim 1, has predrilled holes with metal or plastic attachments to be fitted to each side of the letter box guard.
3. There are two small bolts, catches or similar means which once attached to the door are inserted intcithe predrilled holes or metal or plastic attachments as claimed in claim 2, which prevent it from being opened from the outside.
