SPECIFICATION Edging shears grass box This invention relates to a means of collecting grass cuttings and clippings as grass edging shears are being used to cut grass edges.

In gardening, whether professional or amateur, grass edging is now generally carried out by the use of long handled edging shears. To leave the resultant clippings on the ground is bad gardening practice as this encourages growth of weeds and is untidy. On the other hand the collection of such clippings and edgings is a separate and time consuming garden exercise.

According to the present invention a box suitably shaped is fitted by a spring clip, bolt or other similar means (not shown) to the lower blade of edging shears in such a manner as to collect the grass clippings as they fall from the blades of the shears after being severed from the grass edge.

The box can be adjusted to fit different designs and sizes of edging shars.

The box can be detachable or can be permanently fitted to the edging shears or indeed can b fitted as an integral part of the tool at the manufacturing stage of the edging shears.

Figure I shows the box in position.

1. A detachable box suitably shaped, fitted to the lower blade of gardening edging shears to collect grass edging clippings.

2. A box permanently fitted to the lower blade of gardening edging shears to collect grass edging clippings.

3. A box fitted at the manufacturing stage of gardening edging shears to the lower blade thereof forming an integral part of such gardening edging shears and as such one complete tool comprising gardening edging shears and grass clippings collecting box from the stage of manufacture onwards, to collect grass edging clippings.
