Abstract

Blue vehicle brake lights are additional brake lights which are activated by a push type button under the brake pedal so positioned that they are only activated when the brake pedal is fully depressed.

Description

SPECIFICATION Blue vehicle brake light This invention relates to a blue vehicle brake light.
Standard brake lights are red brake lights which come into operation immediately the brake pedal is depressed whether gently or very hard as in an emergency.
According to the present invention there is provided a blue light which shows when a brake pedal is full depressed as in an emergency stop. Under normal usage the red brake light light will show as at present. A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example.
A typical kit will contain two blue lights, one in each corner of the rear window with sufficient wiring to run to a position directly under the brake pedal fitted so that a push type switch will be activated immediately the brake pedal is fully depressed.
1. Many traffic accidents occur because although vehicle brake lights are readily visible when the brake is applied the Driver(s) of vehicle(s) behind the braking vehicle is unable immediately to known how hard the Drive of the braking vehicle has applied his or her brakes. Particularly on motorways and other roads carrying fast moving traffic and more particularly where visibility is impared (fog or heavy rain) the need to brake hard and immediately as indicated by the blue brake light of the vehicle in front of a Driver would be an additional warning to avoid collision.
2. Traffic Accident Investigators (Police or Insurance Companies) would be better able to assess a vehicle Drivers's reaction to an emergency and witnesses would be able to testify whether or not an involved vehicle showed red or blue lights and when in relation to any accident.
CLAIM A kit comprising two Blue lights, one to be fitted in each corner of the rear window, in the case of cars and vans, with sufficient wiring to run from the existing brake circuit to a position under the brake pedal so fitted that a push type switch will activate the Blue Brake lights immediately the brake pedal is fully depressed.
