Vacuum tubes.-In a valve in which the anode 10 forms part of the container, a grid 28 and a filament, cathode 23 are supported by collars 24, 14 mounted respectively around a re-entrant stem 12 and a concentric member 13 projecting internally therefrom. The member 13 extends beyond the outer end of the glass portion 11 of the container. A rod 15 mounted on the collar 14 supports two insulators 16, 18. The filament 23 is secured to rods 21 on the insulator 16, and is strung over hooks 20 on the insulator 18 and a hook 22 which is clamped to the rod 15 and prevents the accumulation of a charge thereon. The rods 21 are connected with leads passing through tubular members 34 and sealed by copper discs. The grid wire 28 is wound around rods 25 secured to the collar 24, and the turns are spaced by wire helices 29 threaded on the rods 25 and clamped by continuous bands 26 having ears 27 engaging with the rods. Stops 30 and wires 31 welded to the rods prevent movement of the bands.
