Description
SPECIFICATION
Infant nursing aid
This invention relates to an infant nursing aid for safely and comfortably feeding milk in baby nursing without requiring manual labouring operations.
In the present world, the rapid development of industry has made the living condition of the people becoming tied up more and more. This is particularly true for the modern women because most of them are career devoted workers. In addition to performing their normal jobs in the office, they also have to carry out the household duties in a very limited time at home. Although various electrical appliances have been produced to help them in curtailing their labouring work at home, yet they are still tied up to time. One of the headache duties in the family is baby nursing.
Conventionally, a separate feeding bottle is usually used to follow the traditional way of feeding by carrying the baby with one hand in declined position and holding the feeding bottle with another hand. During the nursing time, they are completely occupied, and can hardly spare themselves for other things. If interruption has to be made for other important thing, they have to put off the nursing in the midway, often resulting in not completing a normal nursing at a time.
It is accordingly a primary object of this invention to provide an infant nursing aid that requires no human labour in nursing operations.
It is a further object of this invention to provide an infant nursing aid with a simple and adjustable structure so as to enable the baby to be comfortably nursed in lying position.
It is still a further object of this invention to provide an infant nursing aid with safety arrangement so as to prevent it from making any harmful contact with the body of the baby.
According to the present invention, these and other objects are achieved by providing an infant nursing aid, which comprises in combination: a base support suitable for being placed under the pillow; an adjustable suspension device perpendicularly connected to the centre of the base support through screw coupling; and a feeding bottle adjustably sustained by the suspension device; thereby, a safe and comfortable nursing can be provided without requiring manual feeding operations.
These and other objects and advantages of the present invention will become clear from the following description of the preferred embodiments when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is an illustrative view of a preferred embodiment of an infant nursing aid in feeding condition according to this invention; and
Figure 2 is a three-dimensional view of another preferred embodiment of an infant nursing aid according to this invention.
Referring to Fig. 1, there is shown a preferred embodiment of an infant nursing aid according to this invention, which comprises in combination: a
base support 23; a suspension arm 21
perpendicularly connected to the centre of the
base support 23; and a feeding bottle 10
adjustably sustained by the suspension arm 21.
The structure of the base support 23 is made in a
semi-circular structure suitable for being placed
under the pillow 1 and stable in providing support to the suspension arm 21, which is made in a flexable structure for being easily adjusted to any
curvature as required. A connecting end is formed
at the rear end of the suspension arm 21 for being
detachably connected to the base support 23, and
a clamping head 211 coupled with the front end
of the suspension arm 21 through an adjustable
neck ring 213 thereof for making the necessary
adjustment (left and right), together with the tightening up operation.
In nursing operation, first, put the base support 23 in a proper place under the pillow 1, fix the prepared feeding bottle 10 in the clamping head 211 with the rubber teat 11 facing downward to the baby's mouth, adjust the suspension arm 21 to a suitable curvation for the feeding, and tighten the neck ring 213 so as to enable the infant to comfortably suck the teat 11 in proper lying position.
Two facts shall be appreciated that: 1) in order to prevent the nursing aid of this invention from making any accidental contact with the body of the infant, the outer surfaces of the base support 23, the suspension arm 21, and the clamping head 211 are all covered with soft material; and 2) the connection of the suspension arm 21 and the base support 23 is done by screw coupling so as to facilitate collection and storing when the nursing aid is not used in longer duration.
Shown in fig. 2 is another preferred embodiment of an infant nursing aid according to this invention, which also comprises a base support 43, a suspension arm 41 and a feeding bottle 30. Unlike the preferred embodiment shown in Fig. 1, the suspension arm 41 is made of light rigid material and formed in an L shape with a connecting end 41 5 perpendicularly coupled with the base support 43 and a retaining line 413 movably attached at the horizontal portion.
Besides, the feeding bottle 30 has a suspension cord 33 fixed at the rear portion for being attached to the front portion of the suspension arm 41 in conjunction with the retaining line 413, which is usually longer than the suspension cord 33 for sustaining the feeding bottle 30 around the neck portion, and an adjustable rubber teat 31 having a telescopic pipe 311 connected thereto for making the adjustment in connection with the position of the baby's mouth so as to set the feeding bottle 30 in most comfortable position for the infant to suck therefrom. In addition, the outer surfaces of the base support 43 and the suspension arm 41 are also wrapped with soft material for ensuring safety utilization of the nursing aid of this invention.
While, various advantageous embodiments have been chosen to illustrate the invention, it shall be understood by those skilled in the art that various changes and modifications can be made therein without departing from the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
