Abstract

213,886. K.D.P., Ltd., (Assignees of Stutelibury, M. S.). April 5, 1923, [Convention date.]. Emulsions, making.-Raw or vulcanized latex is converted into a pasty or solid substance, capable of re-conversion into its original state by the addition of water, by evaporation in presence of a protective colloid with or without an anticoagulant. Suitable colloids are gelatine, glue, gum arabic, saponin, casein, white of eggs, alkaline albuminates or their decomposition products (protalbinates and lysalbinates), &c. As anticoagulants alkaline sulphites, iodides, or rhodanides may be used. The addition of ammonia or an organic base is advantageous. The added substances may also serve as fillers, colouring- matters, vuicanization accelerators, &c. Specification 193,451, [C!ass 70, India-rubber &c.], is referred to.
