Abstract

A diesel type prechamber (20) has a centrally located heated tubular member (36) supplied internally with hot air through a secondary throat or transfer passage (40), the air vaporizing the fuel sprayed against the outer surface (46) of the hot member and also mixing with the vaporized fuel upon passage of the air through transpiration holes (42) in the member.
