Description

SPECIFICATION Arrangement for fastening a bearing ring to the casing of a rotary tube The present invention relates to an arrangement for fastening a bearing ring to the casing of a rotary tube, especially of a rotary kiln.
More particuarly it relates to such an arrangement in which lining plates evenly distributed on the periphery of the casing are inserted between the bearing ring and the casing of the rotary tube, and in which support and holding elements for the bearing ring and the lining plates are provided, arranged lying opposite to each other, at both sides of the bearing ring, and in which the lining plates are inserted between the support elements.
Such an arrangement is described in U.K.
Patent Application GB 21 22 698A. In the abovementioned Patent Application, the lining plates can be easily installed or replaced from both sides of the bearing ring by simple removal of the holding elements arranged on the support elements. It is also possible to install and/or use for the fastening of the bearing ring quite simple, rectangularly constructed lining plates without any recess or the like between the bearing ring and the casing of the rotary tube.
The present invention seeks to provide a further advantageous refinement of the lining plate fastening between the bearing ring and the casing of a rotary tube, especially of a rotary kiln.
According to the present invention there is provided an arrangement for fastening a bearing ring to the casing of a rotary tube, in which a plurality of lining plates, which are uniformly distributed over the circumference of the casing, are inserted between the bearing ring and the casing of the rotary tube, and support and holding elements for the bearing ring and the lining plates are provided, lying opposite to each other at both sides of the bearing ring, the holding elements being arranged on the support elements, and in which the lining plates are inserted between the support elements wherein there are arranged on the lining plates fixing elements which are in operative connection with the holding elements.
Since the fixing elements, which are in operative connection with the holding elements arranged on the support elements, are arranged on the lining plates, there is required, upon replacement of the lining plates, merely the removal of the fixing elements arranged on the lining plates. In this way, not only is the replacement of the lining plates simplified and/or facilitated, but also by this means the holding elements fixedly arranged on the support elements are protected from external influences, especially from damage.
The fixing elements are fixedly or releasably connected to the lining plates. A releasable connection of the fixing elements has the advantage that they can again be installed after wearing of the lining plate.
A preferred embodiment of the present in vention will now be explained, by way of example only, with reference to the accom panying drawings, of which: Figure 1 shows a partial section of the bearing ring mounting of a rotary kiln with lining plates and bearing ring; and Figure 2 shows a section on the line ll-ll of Fig. 1.
Figs. 1 and 2 show several rectangularly constructed lining plates 3 loosely arranged and evenly distributed on the periphery of a casing between a bearing ring 1 and the bearing ring mounting 2 of a rotary kiln.
There are located at both sides of the bearing ring 1 support elements 4 lying opposite to each other. The support elements 4 serve for the secure retention of the bearing ring 1 in its position.
To the support elements 4 are fixed holding 'elements 5, which considered in the circum ferential direction of the rotary kiln bracket outwardly over the support elements 4 at both sides. The ends of the holding elements 5 which bracket out over or cantilever over the support elements 4 are bent down and reach almost to the surface of the lining plates 3.
There are arranged on the lining plates 3 at both sides fixing elements 6 which, as particu larly shown in Fig. 1, are in operative connec tion with the holding elements 5 fixed on the support elements 4. By means of these fixing elements 6 the lining plates 3 are secured in an advantageous manner in a position in axial direction, while the lining plates are held in their position considered in the circumferential direction of the rotary kiln by the support elements 4.
The replacement of the lining plates is greatly simplified by this arrangement of fix ing elements on the lining plates. This is because, for replacement, merely the two fix ing elements 6 at one side of the lining plate need to be detached and again attached. Thus during repair or installation work, the lining plate 3 can be extracted and again inserted from either side of the bearing ring very quickly and without problems, and without adversely influencing the position or shape of the holding elements or the support elements 4. In addition, if necessary, the fixing ele ments 6 can also be screwed to the lining plates so that they are connected to the lining plates in an easily releasable manner. There also exists the possibility of providing the lining plates 3 at their ends with only one fixing element each. In this case, it can be advantageous to use a fixing element which, as indicated in Fig. 1 by dashed lines 7, extends over almost the whole width of the lining plate 3 and is in engagement and/or operative connection at both ends with the holding elements 5.

Claims (5)
