Abstract

An electro-magnetic valve (1) in the pipe between the petrol tank (3) and the carburettor (4) is energised from the ignition switch (2) through a fuse device (F1, F2). The ignition switch (2) is earthed through a conductor (6) to blow the fuse (F1) when a single-pole switch (SW1) is closed and the ignition switch is operated. The valve (1) and the fuse device (F1, F2) are installed in a case (11) at a hidden place in the car body and the switch (SW1) is accessible to the driver. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Blocking device for motor-car for the prevention of hijacking and stealing This invention relates to a blocking device used in motor-car for preventing the car from being stolen or hijacked.
Conventionally, all motor-cars are provided with different keys for opening the ignition switch and starting the engine in driving. If a hijacker gets into the car in the way and forces the driver to abandon the car, the hijacker can easily get escaped with the car. On the other hand, when the car is parked at night, a car-stealer only turns on the ignition switch and drives the car away.
It is accordingly an object of the present invention to provide a blocking device for motorcar for the prevention of hijacking and stealing that overcomes the foregoing problems associated with conventional cars.
According to the invention, this and other objects are achieved by providing a blocking device for motor-car for the prevention of hijacking and stealing, which device comprises an electro-magnetic valve communicatively linked with the oil pipe between the petrol tank and the carburettor of the car for controlling the supply of petrol, a series-connected fuse device electrically coupled between the electro-magnetic valve and the igntion switch connected to the ignition system of the car, a grounding conductor tapped at a node between the fuse device, and a singlepole switch connected to the grounding conductor for controlling the open and close of the loop circuit formed between the ignition switch and the electro-magnetic valve. All the afore-said elements are installed in a case for being secured at a hidden place in the car body except for the single-pole switch connected to the grounding conductor, which switch is fixed at a place in the car body for easy approach by thg driver in performing imminent operations against stealing or hijacking therewith.
This and other objects and advantages of the present invention will become clear from the following description of a preferred embodiment when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawing, in which: Figure 1 is a circuit diagram of a preferred embodiment of a blocking device for motor-car for the prevention of hijacking and stealing according to this invention.
Referring to Fig. 1, a circuit diagram of a blocking device for motor-car for the prevention of hijacking and stealing comprises in combination: an electro-magnetic valve 1 communicatively linked with the oil pipe between the petrol tank 3 and the carburettor 4 for controlling the flow of the petrol from the petrol tank 1 to the carburettor 4; a pair of seriesconnected fuse devices F1 and F2 electrically connected between the electromagnetic valve 1 and the ignition switch 2, which is coupled with the ignition system 5 of the car, for effecting overload protection for the electro-magnetic valve 1; and grounding conductor 6 tapped at a node A between the fuse devices F1 and F2 at one end and grounded (to the car) at the other; and a single-pole switch SW1 electrically connected to the grounding conductor 6.All the afore-said elements are installed in a case 11, which is secured in a secret place in the car and fastened by a number of screws 12 in order to prevent it from being found out and distroyed by the hijacker or the car-stealer, except that the singlepole switch SW1 is fixed at a place in the car body for being easily accessible by the driver.
Operations of the preferred embodiment of this invention are as follows: When the driver is hijacked in the car and forced to desert his car and leave the switch key to the hijacker, the driver secretly turns on the single-pole switch SW1 right before he leaves the car. Under this condition, the loop circuit formed by the ignition switch 2, the fuse device F1 and the switch SW1 is therefore grounded and becomes short, causing the fuse device F1 to be burnt out. As a result, the electro-magnetic valve 1 is out of power supply and stops functioning so that the petrol tank 3 is closed without any petrol flowing to the carburettor 4. At this time, there is only the petrol left in the carburettor 4 for the hijacker to drive the car a short distance therefrom and has to abandon the car. Therefore, the car is saved through the protection of this invention.
When the car is parked on the roadside at night, the driver simply turns off the ignition switch 2 first, and then, turns on the switch SW1 for effecting protection purpose. If the car-stealer breaks into the car and intends to drive the car away, once he turns on the ignition switch 2, the fuse device F1 will be burnt out, cutting off the petrol flow from the petrol tank 3. With the only petrol remaining in the carburettor 4, the car-stealer cannot achieve his stealing purpose.
According to the preferred embodiment of this invention, the carburettor 4 can be provided with a larger capacity for storing a proper amount of petrol therein or with an additional small oil cup 41 communicatively coupled with the carburettor 4 for maintaining a little more petrol so as to enable the hijacker or the car-stealer to drive the car to a proper distance and leave a chance to the driver (or the car owner) for temporarily evading the dangerous situation and calling up the police for emergency action.
While a preferred embodiment has been illustrated and described, it will be apparent that many changes and modifications may be made in the general construction and arrangement of this invention without departing from the spirit thereof, and it is therefore desired that the present invention be not limited to the exact disclosure but only to the extent of the appended claims.
