Abstract

A cake of soap 11 is circular in plan and includes a circular recess 111 with relatively deep, up to quarter the thickness, side wall 112. The recess of this new cake is thus adapted to receive a used piece of similar soap 12 which locates completely within the recess 111 as seen in Figure 2. The recess area occupies a major portion of the surface area of the cake. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Improvements in soap cakes This invention relates to an improved cake of soap.
An object of the invention is to provide for the full utilization of a cake of soap, especially the small sliver which is left after a substantial part of the cake has been consumed.
According to this invention there is provided a cake of soap wherein a surface thereof has a recess in which a used sliver of a cake of soap may be inlaid.
The recess will be dimensioned so that it is of a shape to receive the used sliver. The recess will preferably be of a profile in plan corresponding to the profile of the outer surface plan of the cake, this conveniently being circular.
The soap cake thus has on its surface a size of recess or trough for insertion of a used small portion of soap wherein the used soap adheres entirely to the new cake with the purpose of completely using the small portion.
This invention relates to the making of an appropriate trough on the surface of the soap.
Said trough is used for inserting used small slivers of soap and sticking them to the soap. Due to the inlay's functions the adherence in the trough is not affected by rubbing or sliding off from the soap.
If the volume of the soap is small it may be used to one quarter of the size, which then is not easy to hold. Frugal use may allow up to one tenth of the size, but it is not convenient to use the piece any more. The used slice soap is normally discarded. Only about nine tenths is used at the most.
It is known to pile up the used slices of soap on the surface of a new cake which has to be washed and smooth. The slices have poor adhesion and may come apart when dried.
Sometimes the slices easily slip off.
An embodiment according to the invention is shown in the drawings, wherein: Figure 1 is a perspective view of a cake of soap before the used sliver is attached, and Figure 2 is a view showing the used sliver in position.
Referring to the drawings, the cake of soap 11 circular in plan and includes a circular recess 111 with relatively deep, up to a quarter the thickness, side wall 112. The recess of this new cake is thus adapted to receive a used piece of similar soap 12 which locates completely within the recess 111, as seen in Figure 2. The recess area occupies a major portion of the surface area of the cake.
Claims
1. A cake of soap wherein a surface thereof has a recess in which a used sliver of a cake of soap may be inlaid.
2. A cake of soap according to Claim 1, wherein the recess has a profile in plan corresponding to the profile of the outer surface plan of the cake, this conveniently being circular 3. A cake of soap according to Claim 1 or 2, wherein the recess has a depth of about one quarter of the thickness of the cake.
4. A cake of soap according to any preceding Claim, wherein the diameter of the recess defines an area occupying a major portion of the surface area of the cake.
