Description

SPECIFICATION Electrically heated vehicle seats and footwargners The invention is concerned with a heated car seat back pad and foot muff, suitable especiallyfor motorists who breakdown in freezing conditions.
According to the invention there is provided the combination of a battery 12 volt and 24 volt and a low voltage heated back pad and foot muff. The back pad and foot muff comprising a resistance heating wire secured between two fabric layers which are enclosed in furfabric and P.V.C. material, the heating wire being connected to the battery.
In a preferred embodimenttwo lengths of heating elementwire are stitched to and between the pieces of material e.g. "Wincyette" approximately 15" xl 6" in size. This is enclosed in a furfabric or P.V.C. to form a pad. Atwo metre length of twin flex is connected from the back pad and foot muffto a 12 volt battery.
The heated pad is designed to drape over the back of a car seat.
The foot muff is designed to be placed on the floor of the car.
When plugged into the cigar lighter socket of a car powertransmitted will heat the back pad to 110 degreesfahrenheitand the foot muffto 100 degrees fahrenheit.
Maximum heating effect is only achieved when a person has their back resting against the seat back pad andtheirfeetinthefoot muff.
The outer cover of the seat back pad is designed to resemble a car seat cover.
The outer cover of the foot muff is made of P.V.C.
