Curbs; hearths.-A combined curb and hearth-plate is made from a blank 1 of thin tin-plate which is decorated, in the flat, by printing, painting, embossing, &c. and then, after the corners are cut to the required shape, bent up and secured to a wooden or other core 5. As shown in Fig. 5, the corners are cut to provide tongues 2, 3, the latter, when the blank is bent up, overlying the tongue 2 and being doubled over on itself to form a joint with a rounded edge. The blank shown, which is decorated to imitate tiles, has a beaded front edge 4 and is impressed along the joints between the tiles and also along the lines about which the blank is to be bent. The device, when of large size, is made from two or more sections secured together.
