Abstract

211,925. Richardson, A. W. Nov. 22, 1922. Wicks.-Apparatus for carburetting air, comprises a liquid fuel vessel, two concentric tubes 3, 4 the inner of which serves to admit air to be carburetted. and a hundle of rods 6 which fill the space between the said tubes and to which the liquid fuel is accessible, the rods being of such diameter that the spaces between them form capillary passages. In the lamp shown in Fig. 7, wherein the air tube 3 does not extend to tha top of the rods 6, fuel is admitted to the rods from the oil container 18 and a sleeve 19. operable by a shaft 22, is slidably mounted on the tube 4 to regulate the area of the bundle of rods exposed to the external air.
