Abstract

A display of plastics material, which may be used for collars and leashes for cats or dogs, includes: - means (1) for enabling the card to be hung on a horizontal bar of a display unit; - a first, longitudinal, anti-theft device (2) comprising a tongue (3) of plastics material which is hinged at one end (4) to the card and has a series of barbs at its free end (5) for hooking engagement in a slot (6) in the card to secure a collar or leash to the card; and - a second anti-theft device (9) similar to the first but spaced from and perpendicular to it. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Display card of plastics material with two anti-theft systems The present invention deals with a display card of plastics material with two anti-theft systems.
The various points of sale, more particularly supermarkets, increasingly desire to arrange articles for sale on display stands on which are hung "cards" carrying the articles.
Moreover, these same points of sale wish to ensure that the articles displayed can be handled by potential customers without, however, being capable of being removed too easily.
Every card for displaying an article must therefore be designed to take into account both the requirement that the customer be permitted to examine and handle the article displayed and also the requirement that any theft of said object by removing it from the card should be prevented.
This is the purpose of the present invention, which aims at displaying collars and leashes for dogs and cats on a display card.
These particular objects (collars and leashes for animals) exhibit the feature of including at least one buckle, which is used advantageously to prevent any theft of said object.
The card of plastics material according to the present invention is characterised in that it is made up of a sheet elongated in shape, for example, rectangular, which, when hung on a display stand, includes from top to bottom: - a hanging device for engaging on the bar of the display unit; - a first longitudinal anti-theft device made up of a tongue of plastics material hinged at one end to the card, the free end of the tongue having a series of barbs for hooking, and of a slot in the card, which can engage the barbed end by ratchet action.
- a second anti-theft device arranged below the first and spaced from it, being similar to the first anti-theft device, but preferably arranged perpendicular to that first device; - and, if necessary, at the bottom of the card at least one opening, and, if necessary, a slot or the like which makes it possible more easily to hold elongated leashes.
The invention will be more easily understood by referring to the non-limiting example below, which is illustrated by the diagrammatic Figures 1 and 2.
Figure 1 is the front view of a display card according to the invention for holding a cat collar.
Figure 2 is a section on the line ll-ll of Figure 1 showing the anti-theft system used.
In Figure 1 are shown: - at 1 the device permitting side hanging of the card on a suitable support; - at 2 the first anti-theft device. This device is made up of a small tongue 3 that can pivot around a thinned-down part 4 located at the level of the connection of one end of said tongue to the surface of the card, said tongue having an end 5 having a series of barbs; the card has an opening 6 the side edges of which may be provided with flexible parts 7 arranged so that the barbed part of the tongue engages the flexible parts by ratchet action as is shown in Figure 2; on the card depicted there is an opening 8 beneath the tongue 2; this opening results from the process used to form the tongue; - at 9 an anti-theft device completely analagous to the first anti-theft device; it will be noted that this device is perpendicularly disposed with respect to the first device, which lies in the vertical direction when the card is hung up by 1; - at 10 an opening and at 11 a recess in the base of the card so that long objects (dog leashes) may be wound up without projecting too far beyond the card.
It is important to note that the anti-theft tongues must be so sized that a buckle associated with the object to be displayed may be threaded into said tongue before engagement at the end thereof.
The advantages of the display card according to the invention are essentially the following: - securing the displayed product against theft, - possibility of handling the product, - adaptability of the card to any product that is elongated comprising a buckle or an opening permitting the passage of at least one anti-theft tongue, or, if necessary, a deep throat.
- possibility for certain objects that they may use both anti-theft devices.
1. Display card of plastics material. which may be used for collars and leashes for cats and dogs, characterised in that it includes: - means for enabling the card to be hung on a horizontal bar of a display unit; - a first, longitudinal, anti-theft device constituted by a tongue of plastics material hinged at one end to the card, the free end of which has a series of barbs for hooking, and by a slot in the sheet, which makes it possible to engage the barbed end by a ratchet action, - a second anti-theft device similar to the first and spaced from it, 2. A display card according to Claim 1, wherein the second anti-theft device is disposed in a direction perpendicular to the first.
3. A display card according to Claim 1 or 2, including at least one opening and one slot for holding rolled up elongated objects.
