Abstract

A firearm of the type in which rounds are fired successively from a magazine by the reciprocation of a firing mechanism under the action of propellant gas pressure and a return spring (53), in which the bolt (52) is located between a pair of parallel slides (39, 40), lateral locking and unlocking movement of the bolt (52) being controlled by guides (62, 63) provided on the slides (39, 40).
