Abstract

209,366. Carteret, G., and Devaux, M. Jan. 30, 1923, [Convention date]. Pigments.-A pigment for anti-rust paint consists of a mixture of iron titanate, and an oxide of iron and aluminium, such as bauxite, in such proportions that the pigment contains equal parts of oxides of iron, aluminium, and titanium. In an example 124 kg. of dry finely powdered bauxite is mixed with 176 kg. of similarly prepared ilmenite. The mixture may be reduced in a rotary furnace to modify the tint. A drier such as manganese resinate may be added.
