Abstract
209,327. Waine, W. W., Waine, T. G., and Honeywill, E. G. March 1, 1923. Seats convertible into bedsteads &c.-In convertible furniture, of the type comprising a settee frame with folding side wings, each side wing is composed of three sections 4, 5, 6 which, when extended, are disposed two in line with the side members 2 of the settee frame 1, and the other parallel with the back thereof. Modifications are described, one with side members and folding sections of a height nearly equal to that of the settee back, as shown in Fig. 4, may be used as a seat, bedstead, cot, or childs' playground, while in another form, shown in Fig. 5, the sections fold upon the seat 3 about horizontal hinge lines and the article may be used as a seat, bedstead, or cot; the form shown in Fig. 1 provides a seat and bedstead only. In the preferred construction a collapsable supporting frame for the bedding is hinged to fold within the space below the hinged seat to provide a false bottom, forming a receptacle for the storage of the bedding &c.
