Description

SPECIFICATION Container for Dispensing Moulded Bodies The invention relates to a container for receiving and individually dispensing moulded bodies identical to one another, especially tablets, which can be preserved in a stack in the container, said container having a slide loaded by means of a spring in the direction of the dispensing end and having a cover which is fastened pivotably to the container and is designed as a decorative part and which is provided with a projection pivotable into the clear space of the container.
In such containers, it has hitherto been conventional to design the cover, formed as a decorative part and shaped, for example, like an animal's head, without a special handle. To facilitate, in particular, handling by children who like to use containers of this type for preserving and dispensing tablet-shaped sweets, it has been necessary, when shaping the cover, to allow for appropriate projections which make handling easier. However, this results in a considerable restriction in the design of the cover which, as already mentioned, is shaped as a decorative part.
It must also be remembered that containers of this type are used mainly by relatively small children to preserve sweets, and this particular group of users is often still relatively unskilled in precision motor activity, so that special attention has had to be given to the shaping of the cover.
Furthermore, U.S. Patent Specification 4,121,375 has proposed, for a tube, a screw closure which is designed as a whistle, but which is shaped essentially as a prism, obviously exclusively from functional points of view, and has, on one end face, a threaded bore and a channel running parallel to one shell surface and leading to a cylindrical hollow space connected to the surroundings by a perforation in the shell surface.
The object of the invention is to propose a container of the type mentioned in the introduction, which is distinguished by simple handling even by children, but in which a restriction regarding the design of the cover serving as a decorative part is to be avoided.
Moreover, as high a play value of the container as possible is also to be achieved.
This is achieved, according to the invention, due to the fact that the cover is provided with a separate handle designed as a tube in which is located, in a way known per se, a sound generator which can be excited by blowing.
As a result of the arrangement of a separate handle, a very simple handling even by children is ensured, on the one hand, and, at the same time, the cover serving as a decorative part can be shaped with complete freedom. Furthermore, the play value of the container is also substantially increased as a result of the incorporation of a sound generator.
According to a further feature of the invention, it is envisaged that the tube provided with a sound generator should end in a cavity of the cover, as a result of which the cover acts simultaneously as a resonant body.
The tube is connected to the cover preferably by gluing into a bore of the cover, but it is also possible merely to insert the tube into the bore, although an appropriately firm fit must, of course, be ensured.
The invention is now explained in more detail with reference to the drawing in which: Figure 1 shows a section through a container according to the invention; Figure 2 shows a section through the handle along the line Il-Il in Figure 1, and Figure 3 shows a view of the blowing-in side of the handle.
The container 1 consists essentially of the casing 17, the guide body 18 which can be displaced axially in the interior of the casing 1 7 and which receives the moulded bodies 1 9 indicated by broken lines, and the slide 21 which is loaded by the spring 20 and which presses the moulded bodies 19 towards the upper end or dispensing end of the container 1. The spring 20 is supported on the bottom of the guide body 18 which has on its rear side a longitudinal slot 22 into which the slide 21 engages and which is continuously open on its front side, in order to enable a stack of moulded bodies to be inserted when the guide body 18 is pulled out upwards.
The guide body 18, on the side walls of which are moulded, on the outside, the pins 3 engaging in bores of the cover 2 designed, in the example illustrated, as a bear's head, has at its upper end a bridge 23 which connects its side walls and which is provided with an extension 24 acting as a spring. A projection 25 moulded on the inner side of the cover 2 is supported on the free end of said extension, behind the axis of rotation defined by the pins 3 indicated by a broken line, so that the cover 2 is spring-loaded in the closing direction.
The moulded bodies 19 are pressed upwards by the slide 21, until the topmost moulded body arrives at the bridge 23. When the cover is rotated, the extension 6 of the cover 2 butts against the rear side of the moulded body 19 and pushes the latter out forwards, in a further sequence, through the orifice formed between the top edge of the casing 1 7 of the container 1 and the bottom edge of the cover 2, so that the moulded body can easily be extracted. When the cover is released, it is turned back into its original position shown, as a result of the spring action of the extension 24, and the slide 21 pushes the remaining stack upwards, until the next moulded body 1 9 arrives at the bridge 23.
The cover 2 has in its rear region a recess 15, to the width of which corresponds at least each region of the container 1 which carries the cover 2, in order to prevent an obstruction of the pivoting movement of the cover 2, the extension 6 projecting into this recess.
Furthermore, the cover 2 has a handle formed by the tube 4 which is glued into a bore in the cover 2 and which projects into the cavity 8 of the cover 2 and protrudes beyond the outer edges of the cover 2 designed as a bear's head.
Incorporated in this tube 4 is a sound generator 5 which is formed by a partition wall 7 slightly inclined to the axis of the tube 4 and having an orifice 13, and by a tongue 9 which is connected at one end to the partition wall 7 and the free end of which faces the blowing-in orifice 10 of the tube 4 and covers the orifice 13 of the partition wall 7, forming a small angle with the latter. A covering of the orifice 13 by the tongue 9 is not absolutely necessary, but is advantageous.
However, it is also sufficient if the tongue 9 corresponds to the orifice and is merely bent out of the partition wall 7. The partition wall 7 merges into end plates 11, 12 which alternately uncover and shut off that cross-sectional region of the tube 4 which is located at the side of the partition wall 7, so that air can flow from the blowing-in orifice 10 into the cavity 8 of the cover only via the gap remaining between the margins of the tongue 9 and the partition wall 7, as a result of which the tongue 9 is made to vibrate and generates a sound which is further intensified by the cover 2 acting as a resonant box.
To make it easier to manufacture the cover 2 by injection-moulding, it is advantageous if the walls of the cavity 8 diverge slightly in the direction of the orifice facing the container 1.
