Abstract

A rotary inductor for an electrical machine is disclosed. The inductor comprises a shaft (1) to which are attached pole pieces (2), between adjacent ones of which permanent magnets (4) are received with magnetic axes directed parallel to the axis of rotation. The pole pieces have bulges (3) under which are received, pressed towards the pole pieces, I-shaped braces (5), each one of which clamps simultaneously two adjacent pole pieces and fixes radially the permanent magnet between the pole pieces. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION A rotary inductor for an electrical machine The present invention relates to a rotary inductor for an electrical machine.
A rotary inductor for an electrical machine is known with permanent magnets whose magnetic axes are directed parallel to the axis of rotation, which inductor comprises a shaft to which are affixed pole pieces directing radially the magnetic flux created by the permanent magnets, which magnets are placed between the pole pieces. The magnets are axially clamped together with the pole pieces between two diamagnetic discs, by means of studs passing through openings. Radially, the permanent magnets are affixed by diamagnetic wedges, placed into channels cut in the upper parts of the side surfaces of the pole pieces.
According to the present invention there is provided a rotary inductorforan electrical machine, the inductor comprising a shaft to which are attached pole pieces, between adjacent ones of which permanent magnets are received with magnetic axes directed substantially parallel to the axis of rotation, in which inductor the pole pieces have bulges, under which are received, pressed towards the pole pieces, elongate braces, each one of which clamps simultaneously two adjacent pole pieces and fixes radially the permanent magnet between the pole pieces.
The present invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a cross-section through a rotary inductorforan electrical machine; and Figure 2 is a side view of the inductor.
According to Figures 1 and 2, on a shaft 1 is fixed a magnetic core comprising pole pieces 2, between which are received permanent magnets 4 having magnetic axes which are directed parallel with the axis of rotation of the shaft 1. The outer ends of the pole pieces 2 have bulges 3, under which are received, pressed towards the pole pieces 2, 1shaped braces 5. Each of the braces 5 clamps simultaneously two adjacent pole pieces 2 and fixes radially the permanent magnet 4 in the space between the brace 5, the shaft 1 and the adjacent pole pieces 2.

2. An inductor according to claim 1, wherein each of the braces is I-shaped.
3. A rotary inductor for an electrical machine, substantially as herein described with reference to the accompanying drawing.

**WARNING** start of CLMS field may overlap end of DESC **. SPECIFICATION A rotary inductor for an electrical machine The present invention relates to a rotary inductor for an electrical machine. A rotary inductor for an electrical machine is known with permanent magnets whose magnetic axes are directed parallel to the axis of rotation, which inductor comprises a shaft to which are affixed pole pieces directing radially the magnetic flux created by the permanent magnets, which magnets are placed between the pole pieces. The magnets are axially clamped together with the pole pieces between two diamagnetic discs, by means of studs passing through openings. Radially, the permanent magnets are affixed by diamagnetic wedges, placed into channels cut in the upper parts of the side surfaces of the pole pieces. According to the present invention there is provided a rotary inductorforan electrical machine, the inductor comprising a shaft to which are attached pole pieces, between adjacent ones of which permanent magnets are received with magnetic axes directed substantially parallel to the axis of rotation, in which inductor the pole pieces have bulges, under which are received, pressed towards the pole pieces, elongate braces, each one of which clamps simultaneously two adjacent pole pieces and fixes radially the permanent magnet between the pole pieces. The present invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a cross-section through a rotary inductorforan electrical machine; and Figure 2 is a side view of the inductor. According to Figures 1 and 2, on a shaft 1 is fixed a magnetic core comprising pole pieces 2, between which are received permanent magnets 4 having magnetic axes which are directed parallel with the axis of rotation of the shaft 1. The outer ends of the pole pieces 2 have bulges 3, under which are received, pressed towards the pole pieces 2, 1shaped braces 5. Each of the braces 5 clamps simultaneously two adjacent pole pieces 2 and fixes radially the permanent magnet 4 in the space between the brace 5, the shaft 1 and the adjacent pole pieces 2. CLAIMS
1. A rotary inductor for an electrical machine, the inductor comprising a shaft to which are attached pole pieces, between adjacent ones of which permanent magnets are received with magnetic axes directed substantially parallel to the axis of rotation, in which inductor the pole pieces have bulges, under which are received, pressed towards the pole pieces, elongate braces, each one of which clamps simultaneously two adjacent pole pieces and fixes radially the permanent magnet between the pole pieces.
2. An inductor according to claim 1, wherein each of the braces is I-shaped.
3. A rotary inductor for an electrical machine, substantially as herein described with reference to the accompanying drawing.
