Abstract
In a quick-release drum-clamping device for stranding machines, a gear 7 fixed on the lower end of a hand lever 8 engages via teeth 6 a sleeve 3 which carries stub-shaft 4, which can move without rotation, and which is arranged in a lug 2 on a side of a yoke 1. A two-arm lever 12 is connected to a joint 9 in the sleeve and to a joint 11 of an adjustable connecting bar 10, which bar is connected by a joint 13 with a single-arm lever 17 connected by a joint 16 to stub-shaft 14. Lever movement thus moves the stub-shafts in opposite directions. The simultaneous stub-shaft movement takes place with a minimal effort by a single movement of the arm in the most ergonomically favourable position. <IMAGE>
Description
SPECIFICATION
Quick-release drum clamping device for stranding machines, particularly for buckling machines
The invention relates to a drum clamping device with a symmetrical tip movement for stranding machines, particularly for buckling machines.
Stranding machines are well known in the field of cable production, in which the twisting head is substituted with a frame or rotary wings arranged in a completely closed supporting block. These stranding machines are the so-called buckling machines which, besides their lower weight and high capacity, realize the principle of double twisting. According to one of the characteristics of the buckling machines, the twisted finished product is stored on a drum arranged in a socalled yoke, bearing supported at both ends between the rotary parts (frame or rotary wing) of the machine. The drum may be held in the yoke with a shaft passing through the hole of the drum, or with the aid of tips.
The buckling machines are suitable for use in more and more technologies, as a result of which, for instance, they produce very long twists for cables with plastic sheath. Therefore, large-size drums are used.
Replacement of the receiving drums takes up the main part of the servicing time of these machines, within which is the part-process of removing the full drum from the yoke, or fixing the empty drum in the yoke. During the replacing process, the tube requirement of the drum clamping device, accessibility of the receiving drum and removal of the drum from the tips, or setting the drum up onto the tips can cause problems. Owing to the weight, the replacement of a large-size full drum is fairly complicated, since considerable physical force is required to release the drum.
In the known up-to-date solutions, either one of the tips, or both the tips are movable in an axial direction. If only one of the tips is capable of linear movement, then no direct clamping of the drum is possible. This is because when the tip is released or fixed, the receiving drum has to be manually removed from or placed onto the tip which is incapable of linear movement. This means at the same time that the receiving drum has to perform ari axial movement. These processes are physically overstraining.
If both tips move, symmetrical tip movement, the former disadvantage is eliminated, but the construction of the actuating mechanism is very complicated, because the receiving drum is arranged in the yoke within the rotary frame of the buckling machine.
There are various solutions already known for the symmetrical tip movement and drum clamping, among which the Mailleffer method is the most up-to-date. According to this solution, the tips are supported by bearings in sleeves, each provided with a spiral groove, in which the two ends of the manually actuated frame move as guide cams, whereby the tips carry out a forward motion. The transmission realizable between the hand power and the power necessary for the tip movement is small, exertion of the force is in an ergonomically unfavourable position, thus the replacement of the receiving drums is physically too strenuous. As a result of the available space and the related heavy loads, the material of the built-in component parts is expensive, and their wear is intensive. Adjustment of the stroke and the stroke position of the movement is complicated. The actuating frame permits the replacement of the drum only by its lowering, because, during the receding movement of the tips (release), the frame takes up its position in the space above the receiving frame, and thus the demands for applicability (e.g. use of cranes, external drum lifting) can only be met to a limited extent.
The invention is aimed at providing a quickrelease drum clamping device, whereby the symmetrical movement of the tips (release or fixing) takes place with minimal effort by a single movement of an arm in an ergonomically most favourable position.
The invention is based on the recognition, that the two drum clamping tips are enframed in a common system with a mechanism consisting of a two-arm and a single-arm lever, as well as adjustable connected bars and a hand lever engaged through gears with a mobile sleeve formed at the indirect-driven tip and provided with a toothed bar profile.
According to the invention, a quick-release drum clamping device with a symmetrical tip movement for stranding machines, particularly for buckling machines, comprises a gear fixed at the lower end of a hand lever which is engaged with a sleeve, which can move without rotation and arranged in a lug being in the side of a yoke, through a toothed bar formed on the lower, external surface of the sleeve, furthermore the bearing of the shaft of the indirect-driven tip is arranged within the sleeve. A two-arm lever is provided connected to the joint in the sleeve and to one of the joints of the adjustable connecting bar, as well as a single-arm lever connected to the other joint of the adjustable connecting bar and to the joint carried in bearing on the shaft of the direct-driven tip.The shaft of the direct-driven tip is arranged in the rotary sleeve carried in bearing in the side of the yoke.
The invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a plan view of a quick-release drum clamping device according to the invention; and
Figure 2 is a side view of the quick-release drum clamping device shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1 shows sleeve 3 which can move without rotation. The sleeve is arranged in a lug 2 which is in one side of a yoke 1. A shaft 5 of an indirect-driven tip 4 is supported by bearings in the sleeve 3. The external lower surface of sleeve 3 is provided with a toothed bar profile 6, which is connected to a hand lever 8 via a gear 7. A twoarm lever 12 is connected to a joint 9 of the sleeve 3 and to one of the joints 11 of an adjustable connecting bar 10, which passes through the yoke 1. A single-arm lever 17 is connected to the other joint 13 of the adjustable connecting bar 10 and to a joint 1 6 in bearings on a shaft 1 5 of a directdriven tip 14. A rotary bush 19 is supported in bearings in a lug 1 8 formed on the other side of the yoke 1. The shaft 15 of the direct-driven tip 14 is arranged in the bush 1 9.The rotary bush 19 is driven by a toothed belt pulley 20 from a gearbox 22 of a pulling wheel 21. The driving of the drum is ensured by a sliding catch between the rotary bush 19 and the shaft 15 with a fork 23.
The operation of the quick-release drum clamping device, when the receiving drum is released, will now be described.
The operator releases the hand lever 8 from a fastening catch, pulling it toward himself. The gear 7 fixed at the end of the hand lever 8 engages the toothed bar 6, whereby it moves the sleeve 3 outward. In this way, the tip 4, ensuring the rotation of the drum, disengages from a hole in the drum.
The two-arm lever 12 rotates about the joint 9 in the sleeve 3. The two-arm lever moves the single-arm lever by the adjustable connecting bar
10 in such a way, that, with the aid of the bearing supported joint, it pulls the tip out of the hole of the drum.
The shaft 15 of the tip 14 is driven by the gearbox 22 of the pulling wheel 21 via a belt drive in such a way, that the toothed belt pulley 20 transmits the movement to the rotary bush 1 9 and the sliding catch between the toothed belt pulley 20 and the rotary bush 19 to ensure rotary movement of the shaft 1 5 and tip 14. The drum is rotated with the aid of the fork 23 fixed to the shaft 1 5 between tips 4 and 14.
When the receiving drum is fixed, the movement of the structural elements is opposite to the movement which takes place when the receiving drum is released.
The advantage of the invention is that it ensures a symmetrical movement of the tips in a simple way at a low cost, whereby the application of optimal drum lifting modes can be realized (e.g.
crane, drum lifting, external drum lifting, etc.). All these movements can be carried out with a minimal effort, by a simple movement of an arm in the most ergonomically favourable position.
