Abstract
207,501. GuÚrin, E. Nov. 22, 1922, [Convention date]. Sight - testing apparatus for testing acuity of vision and the chromatic sense comprises a source of light 2 enclosed in a casing 1, the casing 1 being capable of rotation about the light, and having a translucent ribbon 9 on rollers at one end for testing acuity of vision and a disc 6 at the other end for testing the chromatic sense. The apparatus is normally housed in a casing 39 and is supported on a base 40 fitted with stops 41 which fit the casing 39 when the same is used as a stand during testing operations. The translucent ribbon 9 is provided with charts of type of graduated sizes consisting of letters or outlines so that test mav be made of both educated and illiterate persons. When using the colour sense testing disc 6, the casing 1 is rotated through 180‹ and various colour screens, signals, semaphores &c. which are on the disc 6 may be brought into position before an aperture 46 in the casing 1. The light 2 may be varied in conjunction with comparison photometers so that tests may be carried out at various and definite luminosities.
