Abstract
207,280. Terry, E. Sept. 1, 1922, Compound forms ; plates.-Armour and other metal plates having more than two hardened sheets are built up of laminµ, each of which is first hardened on one or both of its faces, and is then dipped in a molten alloy, such as an alloy of lead and tin, the assembled coated laminµ being finally subjected to pressure till the binding material has solidified. Each lamina is rolled &c. to give it a definite grained structure, and is assembled in the finished plate with its grain disposed transversely of that of the adjacent laminµ.
