Sparking-plugs.-A soft metal ring e, preferably of copper, which acts as a packing between the insulator f and casing a or ring d, is extended downwardly towards the combustion chamber, without however being in intimate contact with the insulator and casing except at the point of support. Heat is rapidly conducted from the exposed inner end of the packing ring e to the point of support; sudden local cooling and consequent cracking of the insulator are thereby avoided.
