Abstract
206,115. Etablissements Continsouza Soc. Anon. Oct. 25, 1922, [Convention date]. Lens mounts.-The lenses in a lens turret for kinematograph apparatus are simultaneously focused by the provision of threaded rings surrounding tubes carrying the lenses and engaging threads or the like thereon, the rings being connected to a common operating member; means for indicating the Lens in use may be provided. As shown, the turret 2, carrying three lenses in externally-threaded tubes 10, is surrounded by a ring 1 having a toothed rack 1<1>. The ring is rotatable on the turret and has slots 5 engaging studs 6 in lugs 7<1> formed on threaded rings 7 engaging the tubes 10. The pitches of the threads vary in accordance with the focal lengths of the lenses so that equal rotations of the tubes 10 produce appropriate focusing displacements. The tubes 10 are prevented from rotating by the engagement of studs 13 in slots therein. The ring 1 is rotated by a pointer 17 moving over a focusing scale IS and arried by the shaft 15 of a toothed wheel 14 engaging the rack 1'. A pinion 19 on the shaft 15 engages a toothed wheel 20 bearing numbers visible through an opening 22 and indicating the lens in use. The gearing is such that rotation of the turret sufficient to substitute one lens for another causes the pointer 17 to make one rotation.
