Axles and axle structures.-A rear axle casing for motor vehicles of the type in which two electric motors are employed, one driving each rear wheel, is formed in one piece by forging, stamping or pressing and includes two symmetrically aranged open-topped basins 1, 2 receiving the driving-gears, an integral connecting pin 3, and integral lateral members 5, 6 bored to receive the wheel shafts. Separately formed cover plates 8 are. bolted over the top of each basin. Specification 117,777 is referred to.
