Abstract
205,747. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (General Electric Co.). Jan. 5, 1923. Bulbs for use in motor-vehicle lamps &c. have the continuity of the surface of the hemispherical end interrupted, in order to prevent glare caused by the formation of a reflected image of an eccentric filament, the thickness of the glass being uniform over this surface. The effect may be produced by rippling the glass, as shown at 14, Fig. 3, or by flattening a part of the hemispherical end as shown in Fig. 5. In the latter case, the flattened part may be rippled.
