Abstract

In the driving of galleries with a shield, the revetment of the tunnel is introduced by concreting on site by step immediately behind the shield. In order to avoid interrupting the advance of the shield during concreting, besides the fixed rear part of the shield (6), a mobile part has been provided made up of a set of lamellae (7). In principle this part remains still during the continuous advance of the shield, and it will be pulled forward in the shield lamella per lamella only at the time of concreting the segments, and it will then remain still with respect to the rock, until the new concreting step. <IMAGE>

with the Swiss Patent Office acting as the receiving office on (86) 26 Sep 1978, being given an application number PCT/C1-178/00021. This application was searched by the European Patent Office acting as the International Search Authority (]SA), and published by the International Bureau on (87) 5 Apr 1979 under serial numberWO 79100159 in the German language. The application was communicated to the European Patent Office and given an application number EP 78900127 with subsequent conversion to a UK application under Section 81 (fl(a) of the Patents Act 1977. The text of the appliqation as filed is contained in the publication made by the International Bureau as identified above, the accompanying text being an English translation of the application as originally filed.
