Abstract

An artificial fishing lure has a chamber (3) for bait which is a separate part easily removable from or assembled with the body (1) of the lure. Each body (1) may be provided with a plurality of such chambers (3) which can therefore be prefilled with respective charges of bait. The body is made in the form of a small fish or other prey so as to increase its attractiveness. The chamber (3) may be inside or outside the body (1). <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Artificial fishing lure This invention relates to artificial fishing lures.
As a rule, bait has to be used in fishing so as to attract the fish to bite. Of course, the ideal bait design should stimulate the vision and the sense of taste of the fish. A natural organism or processed bait is used to stimulate its taste. Larger fish swallow smaller ones, so that artificial fishing lure is made in the shape of a small fish or other prey which the fish likes to swallow. Therefore, nowadays the more advanced artificial fishing lures are in the shape of fish and their interior is an empty chamber to accommodate the bait. Through a number of orifices on the said lure, the bait and the smell thereof can permeate to the water. This kind of artificial fishing lure is desirable because it attracts both the senses of vision and of taste of the fish.Nevertheless, the structure of the above-mentioned lure is such that the lure body divides into two sections defining the bait chamber, and these two sections have to be separated so as to fill the bait-stuff. Alternatively, the chamber may be filled by injection of fluent bait. During fishing, this lure has to be opened to refill with bait if the original bait runs low, or may have to be replaced with another lure. Injection is a specialised operation requiring some form of syringe and is not suitable for many types of bait.
The present invention is an improved and redesigned artificial fishing lure with a cassette-like bait chamber designed to eliminate the abovementioned drawbacks. The said chamber is a separate body which can be easily removed from or assembled with the body of the lure body and each artificial fishing lure can be provided with several chambers. Furthermore, each chamber can be filled with bait in advance, so when the bait therein runs low during fishing, the chamber wherein the bait has run low can be rapidly removed from the artificial fishing lure and another chamber pre-filled with bait-stuff can be assembled in the said lure.
Particular embodiments of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein: Fig. 1 shows a first embodiment of the present invention in perspective and side view; Fig. 2 shows a second embodiment in perspective view; Fig. 3 shows a third embodiment in perspective view, and; Fig. 4 shows a fourth embodiment in perspective view.
Fig. lisa first embodiment wherein the body 1 of the artificial fishing lure is designed to obtain the visual effect of luring fish, its shape being similar two that of a small fish or insects on which the fish preys.
The body 1 which may be made of plastics, china or light metal in general is equipped with a fishhook 2. A cassette-like bait chamber is provided by an openended canister 3 with a number of orifices therein.
The canister may likewise be made of plastics, china or light metal. A space 10 in the body 1 is to exactly accommodate the canister 3 so that the bait in the canister 3 and the smell thereof can permeate to the water through the orifices in the canister and corresponding ones in the body. The canister 3 has tenons 31 each to coincide with a mortise 101 extending from the space 10 in the body 1. When the canister 3 is inserted in the space 10 and forcefully pressed down, the tenons 31 and mortises 101 snap together, and the canister 3 is separably fixed in the body 1.
When the original canister 3 is to be replaced by another, the former is simply pushed upward and it can be easily removed.
The disposition of the chamber and space in the artificial fishing lure body may vary with the structural design. Figure 1 shows vertical insertion and Figure 2 horizontal insertion. The effect thereof is the same.
Fig. 3 shows a plate-like artificial fishing lure 1, to which a canister 3 also can be applied but it is necessary to provide a closure 32 on one side of the canister. Again, the canister 3 has tenons 31 (but at the side of the canister only) to coincide with slots 102 extending from the space 10 in the body 1. When the canister3 is inserted in the space 10 and forcefully pressed down, the tenon 31 and slot 102 joint together as before. When the original canister 3 is to be replaced by another, the former is forcefully drawn out to be easily removed.
Fig. 4 shows that the chamber can be applied externally to a body of a lure, for example when such a lure is too small to have space for accommodating the chamber within its bounds but as shown in Fig.
4, there may be a link or chain 33 to connect the body and chamber. The fish is still attracted to bite the lure by the bait contained in the said chamber the smell whereof permeates in the water.
1. A fishing lure with a chamberfor bait provided by a canister separable from and assemblable with a body of the lure.
2. A fishing lure according to claim 1 wherein the body has a space to accommodate the canister chamber, and the shape of the said space and the canister bait-stuff chamber coincide with each other.
3. A fishing lure according to claim 2 wherein the canister is received within the body of the lure and there is a plurality of orifices in both of the body and the canister to allow the smell of the bait to escape.
4. A fishing lure according to claim 2 or claim 3 wherein a fixing tenon is provided on the canister so as to joint with a slot set in the body.
5. Afishing lure according to claim 1 wherein the canister is externally linked to the body.
