Abstract

Game equipment comprises a game board (1), hit equipment, and one or more roll objects. The game board (1) is divided by boundary lines (4) into areas (5) and wherein there is in the middle a central part (6) that acts as a rebound surface to cause a change of direction of rolling roll objects. The roll objects are hit from a starting area (5) against the rebound surface. The aim is to get them into holes (9) or into one of the different areas marked by lines 8. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Game equipment The present invention provides game equipment which comprises a game board, hit equipment eg. a stick, a staff or the like, and one or more roll objects such as balls or the like.
Plenty of board games are known, which are to be played according to various rules, in which balls or the like are hit with the help of a finger, stick, staff or the like, with the intention of getting the balls or the like to a certain goal, such as an opening or some kind of bars situated on the board. The most wellknown of this kind of game might be the Bagatelle game, which comprises a board that is oblong and rectangular with one end arcuate, and in which each player in his turn hits a number of balls from the starting area and the value of points differs for goal areas having different obstacles; and the Corona game, which comprises a quadratic board, in every corner of which there is a hole, whereto there is usually connected a cloth bag, in which game each player tries to hit with the help of the stick some disk-shaped logs.
Board games are known eg. from the German Patent Publications No. 858073 and 2711630 in which on the middle of the board there is an opening for the globules.
The aim of the invention is to produce an interesting game, suited to people of all ages, where the results mainly depend on the players' skill, but where chance ie. the player's good luck, also plays a certain role, which thus makes the game fascinating.
The present invention provides game equipment comprising a game board, hit equipment, and one or more roll objects, the game board being divided by the help of boundary lines into areas and wherein there is in the middle a central part that acts as a rebound surface to cause a change of direction of a rolling roll object.
In the following we give a more exact description of an embodiment which is currently regarded as the best, and refer to the accompanying drawings showing a game board forming part of game equipment according to the invention. In the drawings: Figure 1 shows the game board seen from above.
Figure 2 shows the game board seen in vertical section.
The game equipment comprises a game board 1, hit equipment (not shown, such as a stick, staff or the like) and roll objects (not shown, such as balls, logs or the like). The game 1 is divided by boundary lines 4 into sectors or segments 5. In the middle of the game board there is a central platform or a recess furnished with an edge 6 or the like rebound face which causes a change in the direction of the balls, logs or the like. In this instance the rebound face is a vertical wall and round, but it can instead be different in construction, for example it can vary in different directions.
The edge of the game board 1 is furnished with a raised edge 7, which prevents the balls, logs or the like from rolling outside the board game 1. The base of the segments 5 of the board game 1 are furnished with blocks and/or holes 9 or are delimited by lines 8 into several parts. There is a starting point 10 at which a roll object is placed to be hit.
When the game board has the holes 9, one of the ends of the stick or the like which is serving as hit equipment can have a magnet, and be used with balls or the like manufactured from a suitable material such that the balls or the like can be picked up from the holes by magnetic forces.
The centre of the game area (and/or the edges) can be furnished with a repository 13, or a groove or the like, for some equipment.
In the middle of the board game can be constructed a level (not shown), from which one can see whether the game board is horizontal. The position of the board game 1 can then be changed with the help of one or more adjustable legs 11.
Two or more players can take part in the game, up to the number of the segments. In the case of the variant of the game shown in the drawing, the course of the game is for example as follows: The balls, logs or the like of each player can be of different colours. The playing order will be drawn by lots. The player who gets the highest number on the drawing tour may start, though if several players get the same number the drawing of lots is continued until the hit order is clear.
The hit turns pass on clockwise from the one who started. Each player hits in his turn the ball, log or the like with the hit equipment, starting from the starting point 10 of his own segment 5. The ball, log or the like starts from the starting point 10 in a certain direction and with a certain speed, strikes against the edge 6 of the central platform, and continues its way to the other segments to holes 9 acting as goals, which are marked with different point values, or to the different areas marked with lines 8, which have different point and vote values.
Each player hits an agreed number of balls or the like 3 in his turn. The points or the votes can be counted after each round and the one who has got the highest number of points is the winner of the game. Or one can play it in such a way that the one who first reaches a number of points or number of votes agreed in advance is the winner. If to some segment 5 come more than one of the balls, logs or the like of some player, one can count only the lowest number for example; then the air is to try dispersion, which makes the game more fascinating and the skill of the player will better appear.
It is quite clear that a game in accordance with the invention can be made in different ways, and of different materials, for example of wood or by casting or by pressing from plastic materials.
The game board 1 can be preferably round, oblong or a regular 5-, 6-, or more-edged polygon but also a tetragon can be taken into consideration. The size of the board game can be altered very much. At home the diameter of the game board will preferably be 60 cm, while in public places, such as restrauants, pubs and the like it is preferably to make a larger game. The game board can be made so big that it is possible to reserve a place, an opening or the like, for the referee of the game. In addition, the surface of the game board can be horizontal, slanting or arcuate in such a way that it raises or descends when going from the edge of the board game 1 to the central platform.
The segments 5 can be of the same kind or part of them can be starting segments and part of them goal segments. The goal areas can be different in different segments 5. The segments 5 can describe for example different areas and states on the globe. The points or votes received can describe for example the number of votes.
In the marking of the starting points 10 different usages, for example coloured slips, can be used. The goal areas can as stated above be blocks or grooves, but also other possibilities can come into consideration. The game can be made more difficult by adding blocks and platforms on the board.
