Abstract
Plants are watered by means of a container c buried in the soil beneath or near a plant a. The container is made of plastics, metal or pottery. <IMAGE>
Description
SPECIFICATION
Flora reservoir
The present invention relates to the provision of
an artificial reservoir of water as a method of assisting
plants shrubs flowers vegetables trees and the like to
grow during a period of dry weather.
The invention is shown by reference to the acco
mpanying drawing in which a is a plant shrub flower vegetable tree or the like planted in the soil b so that the roots d are above a purpose designed bowl or
reservoir c made of plastic metal or pottery and which is so positioned and of such size to catch and keep any water which may percolate into it and from which the roots d maytake moisture during the drought or dry period. Thus if there is a natural fall of rain or the soil surface is irrigated some water will collect in this reservoir beneath the roots instead of draining away to waste.
CLAIM
What I claim in this application is a flora reservoir made from impervious material and having a perforated lid or top the whole reservoir being buried in the soil under a plant flower vegetable tree or the like flora to retain water and provide the flora with such water in times of drought the water being taken to the flora by the growth of the roots of the flora into the reservoir through the perforated lid or top of the reservoir and through this perforated lid or top the replenishment of the water in the reservoir is made by natural rainfall or by artificial means.
