Abstract

204,752. Westerman, F. June 29, 1922. Stationary batchmixers with stirrers having complex motions.-A stirrer 45 is mounted on a shaft 44 which describes a path of double-conical form and is simutaneously rotated, the shaft 44 sliding in a sleeve 62 which is mounted by pivots 63 in a ring 59 carried by a shaft 56 which revolves in bearings on the standard 10. The shaft 44 mav have an universal joint 43 to connect it to a shaft 33 carrying a pinion 38 in mesh with a wheel 36 driven by bevel gear 18, 19 and belt 16 from an electromotor carried on the standard 10. Oil pans 27, 64 are provided. The container has a cover 50 provided with a small central opening 51 and a flange 48 which rests on a bracket 46 and is secured by clamps 49.
