Stair rods and stair-rod fastenings.-Fastenings adapted for use with long or short stair rods, consist of a short rod 10 with one end forming a wood screw 10<b> while, the other end is slotted and carries a pivoted slotted link 11. Stair rods for use with these fastenings are provided with a hole 8<a> through which the link can pass when turned to lie in the axis of the screwed rod; the link may then be turned to secure the stair rod, and is kept from sliding in its horizontal position by the engagement of a notch 11<a> in its slot with the securing pin 12.
