Abstract

The present invention relates to frames for closure elements such as doors and windows and is particularly concerned with door frames. The frame comprises a pair of spaced side members 1, 2 and a transverse member 3 adjoining the ends of the side members to provide a top for the frame. Each member comprises at least two longitudinally extending metal sections 9, 11 which are interengaged and shaped to define a cavity therebetween extending around the frame. An insulating material 21, such as a plastics foam, partially at least occupies the cavity to form a core for the frame. <IMAGE>
