Abstract
Apparatus for measurement of the concentration of blood gases which exists by chemical bonding to the haemoglobin, total oxygen concentration, blood pulse, capillary flow and/or flexibility of the blood capillaries, comprises a measuring head 10, in which photoelectric apparatus is built into a reference electrode 100, which in cooperation with electrode 102, electrolyte and membrane 103, is used for polarographic determination of oxygen. Bores 104, 105 in electrode 100 accommodate light emitting diode 106 and detector 107. A movable shutter 110 may be positioned by means 30 (e.g. a mechanical oscillator) such that it permits, in its upper position, reflection from the skin surface 1003, and, in its lower position, scattering from subcutaneous vessels to be measured. Temperature regulation for the head is provided by a gauge and a heater 12. <IMAGE>
