Abstract

202,275. Berchtold, A. Aug. 12, 1922, [Convention date]. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Stencils.-A lettering-stencil comprises a disc 11 which is formed with apertures 14 for guiding a pen, and is revoluble and laterally adjustable on a bar 3, laterally adjustable on a bar 1. Capital and small letters may be formed by adjacent apertures, or separate discs mav be provided for this purpose. The disc is revolubly mounted on a bolt 9 which is supported in a slide 8 arranged in a longitudinal slot 7 in the bar 3. The disc is formed with pits 15 for engaging a locking-spring 16 on the slide. The bar 3 is provided with a Knob 5, a retaining-spring 4, and a pointer 6 arranged over a scale on the bar 1. The head 12 of the bolt 9 may be provided with a pointer arranged over a scale on the bar 3. The bars can be secured by means of drawing-pins passed through lugs 2. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) refers also to the use of stencils which can move in the manner of a slide-rule, and can be placed together to form characters &c. This subject-matter does net appear in the Specification as accepted.
