Abstract

A steel toe-cap (1) for a safety shoe is provided with an edging strip (3) around the edge (2) of the opening. The edging strip, which is formed from a resilient material such as rubber, tapers towards its free edge and is provided with a flange (4) which extends under the lip of the toe-cap to provide a smooth transition into the interior.
