Abstract

Compounds comprising three atoms of a divalent metal each linked through oxygen atoms to (a) a boron atom or a phosphorus atom (the latter optionally being bonded to an oxo oxygen) and (b) an aliphatic monocarboxylic acid radical with the proviso that at least one of said aliphatic monocarboxylic acid radicals has from 7 to 9 carbon atoms and at least one other of said aliphatic monocarboxylic acid radicals has 10 or 11 carbon atoms, and the polymerization products thereof, are useful as rubber compound adhesion promoters and are more easily handled than the previously known compounds and polymers used for this purpose.
