Abstract

A cooling device 10 suitable for the forced cooling of a continuous ring furnace comprising a sequence of chambers CR, to form an endless ring or loop, Comprising a first hollow body 11 which has a bottom periphery 16 corresponding with the periphery of the fire pit PC on which the hollow body 11 is mountable, the hollow body 11 comprising an upper wall 12, two opposite end walls and two opposite side walls 14 and adapted to sit on a shoulder 18 of the fire pit PC, and an air-blowing means 25 mounted when in use within a second hollow body 21 on the upper wall 12 of the first hollow body 11, and the second hollow body being open at an upper part 22 thereof and when in use communicating with an opening in the upper wall 12 in order to take in ambient fresh air through the opening 22 and force the fresh air downwardly through the first hollow body and the fire pit PC. <IMAGE>
