Abstract

Grates and fuel-holders.-A barless grate, provided with loose ends A, Fig. 3, and intermediate portions C, Fig. 6, for easy attachment to various sized household grates, has the loose ends adapted to be clamped to short projecting ends E, Fig. 2, of the existing upper grate bar. This is effected by bolts a<3>, and clamping-pieces a<4>, Fig. 2. The loose ends are separated by slotted bars B, Fig. 7, cut to length and secured by bolts a<9>, Fig. 2, engaging slots b in the bars and slots a<10> in the loose ends A. Intermediate portions C, Fig. 6, adjustable in length by breaking off parts c, are accommodated in slots all in the loose ends. Notches a<1> in the loose end A engage bottom bars D in the permanent grate.
