Abstract
An electrical protection device is incorporated in a plug body for attachment to the leads of a mains operated electrical appliance. The device comprises a faulty current detector (e.g. a core-balance transformer for earth leakage protection) and a non-resettable circuit-breaker arrangement controlled by the detector. The circuit-breaker arrangement may comprise a crowbar circuit and fuse, or a bistable electret relay.
