Abstract

Apparatus for the automatic disconnection at S1 or S2 of a receiving channel carrying excessive noise includes independent logarithmic amplifiers 16 which are used to evaluate received noise. The logarithmic amplifiers are constructed as monolithic units on a single silicon chip for the purpose of thermal equalisation. On the same chip active rectifiers 17 produce rectified voltages representative of the respective noise levels, which are fed to a comparator 18 operating the control logic 19 for the switches S1, S2. <IMAGE>
