Abstract

A comparator comprises a first 1 and a second 2 current domain magnetometer (C.D.M.) and comparator means 3, 5 arranged to compare the outputs of said first C.D.M. and said second C.D.M. and to produce an output representative of the difference therebetween. By applying the same magnetic flux (BB) to each C.D.M., the comparator may operate as a voltage comparator; or, by applying the same voltage (VB=V1=V2) to each C.D.M.; the comparator may operate as a magnetic flux comparator. The comparator means comprises an up/down counter 3 periodically sampled and reset 5 and driving a display 4. <IMAGE>
