Abstract

A safety belt mounting for a motor vehicle seat comprising a seat slide having a fixed part 6 and a movable part 5 mounted in the fixed part for movement in a longitudinal direction, a carrier 8 for a seat belt fastening fixed to the movable part, and locking components secured to the fixed part and the movable part of the slide respectively, on locking component comprising a longitudinally extending channel in the bottom of which are formed a plurality of oppositely arranged staggered catch members 15, the other locking component comprising a longitudinally extending edge 18 received within the said channel, the locking components, being so arranged that under normal operating conditions free relative movement can occur between the edge and channel in the longitudinal direction, the edge 18 and the catches 15 being movable into engagement when impact loads are applied to the carrier whereby the edge is deformed by the catch members, and relative movement of the locking components is prevented. <IMAGE>
